This chart displays the count and percentage of Staff employed during specific years, in specific School Districts. Data can be viewed at the State level or at an individual (or collection of) School Districts level.

The data source is the Basic Educational Data Survey (BEDS) fall submission.

Definitions

1. Position: An index of the various job titles for full-time, licensed staff only. These individuals are required to be licensed according to Iowa Administrative Rule 281-12.4, or the Board of Educational Examiners to perform their duties.
2. Average District or AEA Experience: Number of years employed in the current School District or AEA in a licensed position.
3. Average Total Experience: Number of years employed in any School District or AEA in a licensed position.
4. Percent Advanced Degree: The portion of licensed staff holding a higher degree than a Bachelor’s Degree such as a Masters or Doctorate.
